Cookie policy

What is a cookie?

A cookie is a small text file placed on your device (computer, tablet, smartphone) when you visit a website. It allows the site to remember information about your visit, such as your preferences or your logged-in state.

Other local storage mechanisms also exist, such as sessionStorage and localStorage, which work in a similar way but with different lifetimes.

Authentication cookie

UPLUCE uses a single cookie on its platform:

Name: upluce_token

Purpose: to keep you signed in to the Upluce platform (client area).

Contents: an encrypted authentication token (JWT) containing only your user identifier.

Lifetime: 7 days.

Type: strictly necessary cookie — it does not require your consent, as it is essential to the operation of the platform.

Settings: SameSite=Lax, Secure (over HTTPS).

This cookie is only set when you sign in to your client area. It is not used on the upluce.com showcase site if you do not sign in.

Audience measurement (sessionStorage)

To measure our site's audience, UPLUCE uses an in-house measurement system (developed by us, hosted on our own servers). This system does NOT use cookies.

Instead, an anonymous session identifier is stored in your browser's sessionStorage. sessionStorage is automatically cleared when the tab is closed — it does not persist between browsing sessions.

Data collected: pages visited, time spent, scroll depth, web performance metrics, device and browser type, country (via anonymised IP geolocation).

Visitors are identified using a minimal technical fingerprint (screen size, language, time zone) that cannot identify you personally. No data is transmitted to any third-party service.

What we do NOT use

UPLUCE sets no:

- Advertising or retargeting cookie

- Social network cookie (Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, etc.)

- Third-party analytics cookie (Google Analytics, etc.)

- Marketing personalisation cookie

The upluce.com site contains no third-party tracker. Your browsing is not shared with advertisers or advertising networks.

Managing your cookies

You can delete the authentication cookie at any time by signing out of your client area or by clearing your browser's cookies.

Here is how to manage cookies in each browser:

- Chrome: Settings > Privacy and security > Cookies

- Firefox: Settings > Privacy & Security > Cookies

- Safari: Preferences > Privacy > Manage website data

- Edge: Settings > Cookies and site permissions

Deleting the upluce_token cookie will sign you out of the platform. No other site feature will be affected.
